Thank you Susan for posting your Family letter here for all to see.
Thank you Hope for posting a memory of Dad here on his Birthday. We were all thinking of him and the wonderful memories we have of him.
Thought I would post a couple pic's of Thanksgiving. Here are Marvin and me carving the Roast Beast and another of all of us hanging out around the table. I think my apron is way cooler than Marvin's.

Grandpa

I LOVE Hope's memory.  What a great way to remember Grandpa on his birthday.  I had never heard that story before, but it doesn't surprise me.  Grandpa was such a thoughtful and generous man.   Thank you Hope.

Love,

Happy Birthday Grandpa

In honor of grandpa's birthday I thought I would share a memory I had of him.

Many years ago I traveled to Blanding with some of the family. I can't even remember for sure who went, but I know my dad, grandma and grandpa were there. We stopped at a rest stop to use the restroom and walk around. While we were there we saw a family who had a packed car that was filled with a bunch of stuff and some young children. They looked as if they were very tired, hungry and possibly even had a broken down car. I remember grandpa very quietly going over to them and handing them some money and wishing them good luck. He didn't say a word about it to any of us.

Grandpa was not the most talkative guy on the planet nor was he one to bring attention to himself in any way. But one thing he did do was give quietly where he saw a need. This is one thing about grandpa that I will always remember.

Family golf time.

After this past winter, I think we have been annexed into Alaska. At least now these crazy people from Washington are getting used to a little snow and they don't cancel everything every time there is a possibility of snow in the forecast. Anyway, we are quite sick of the snow now and can't wait until summer.

Yeah - it's the first day of spring!!!!!
